Festive Theatre Shows In London

Tier 2 may mean having a substantial meal with drinks in the pub, but it also brings the great news that some theatre shows can still go ahead. December just wouldn’t be the same if we couldn’t get to a show - or 6!


We have put together a list of some awesome shows you can still see before the year is over. There will be safety measures in place such as socially distanced seating, hand-sanitising stations, temperature checks and you will, of course, need to wear your mask throughout the show.


A Christmas Carol

A Christmas Carol is a must-see each year and this year the all-star cast is sure to make it even better, starring the hilarious Brian Conley, Jacqueline Jossa (selected shows), Lucie Jones, Cedric Neal, Matt Willis and Sandra Marvin. A Christmas Carol will be on at the Dominion Theatre from 7th December 2020 - 2nd January 2021. Buy tickets here!


The Vivienne's Christmas: Up to Snow Good

This show is one that will definitely cheer us up after the awful year we have been through. The Vivienne was the very first winner of Ru Paul’s Drag race and this one-off show is packed with singing dancing and crazy antics. Tickets are limited due to Covid restrictions and the show being one night only! Catch it on the 21st December at the Apollo Theatre.


West End Musical Christmas - Live at the Palace Theatre

If you are a fan of musical theatre this show will really get you in the mood for the festive season. It stars many big names from musical theatre such as Alice Fearn, Ben Forster, Jamie Muscato, Layton Williams, Rachel John, Shanay Holmes, Sophie Evans and Trevor Dion Nicholas who have performed in shows such as Wicked, Elf The Musical, Heathers The Musical, Everybody's Talking About Jamie, The Bodyguard, The Bridges of Madison, SIX and Aladdin - PHEW!


West End Musical Christmas - Live at the Palace Theatre is on from 17th to the 20th December with only 6 performances to choose from.

Potted Panto

Head to the Garrick Theatre right up to 10th January to see a hilarious show starring Daniel Clarkson, Jefferson Turner, Jacob Jackson and Charlotte Payne. The show consists of many famous pantos put into 1 performance including Cinderella, Dick Whittington, Aladdin, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jack and the Beanstalk and A Christmas Carol - why would you choose 1 show when you can have 7.


Adam Kay: Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas

You may know Adam Kay from his book and show ‘This Is Going To Hurt’, and he’s now back with ‘Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas’. From the 21st December to 3rd January at the Palace Theatre, expect more hilarious tales of working in the NHS, this time over the festive period.


Nutcracker Delights

Ballet may not be for everyone but if you fancy going to see the ballet at Christmas time, then this one could be for you. Showing at the London Coliseum from 17th December to 3rd January, Nutcracker Delights features the English National Ballet and English National Ballet Philharmonic.
