Eat Out to Help Out Scheme - What is it and how does it work?

Social life has not been easy during the Coronavirus era, to say the least.

Most people still don't feel 100% comfortable dining out so the government has come up with a great initiative to give the economy a boost - a scheme that will give you 50% off your bill when you eat in one of the participating restaurants.

"Wow, so I can finally have that afternoon tea this weekend at Sketch for like 30 quid?" Hmm, not quite.

The scheme takes off up to £10 from your bill per person, which is still pretty great! And it's valid from Monday to Wednesday until 31st August. Just something to be aware of!

How does it work? You don't need any vouchers or codes, the participating restaurant will automatically take off the amount from your bill. Bear in mind, the discount cannot be applied on alcoholic beverages and service charges. Personal request: If you can, do leave a tip. You don't have to but if you can afford to do it, it is a great help for people and businesses who are really struggling in this economic crisis.

This scheme is a great incentive to be eating out at our favourite places or try new ones! You can find a list of the participating restaurants, bars, pubs and cafés here.

Let's help out our economy by filling our bellies with delicious food! Surely there's worst ways to help!
