We are more that likely still going to be in lockdown this Valentine’s Day so the usual restaurant visits, weekend getaways and other outings will still be off limits, but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate it in other ways. We have put together a list of some ideas to make the day a little more special.
Order meals / cocktails / afternoon tea
There are many restaurants and bars doing home delivery or pick up options, you could order a meal from your favourite restaurant or some drinks. Check out our article on where to order cocktails from. Some places are also delivering afternoon tea and you can add some Prosecco or champagne to make it even more special!
Restaurant at home
It’s easy to order in from restaurants but you could also make your favourite restaurant meal at home. Download the menu from a restaurant of your choice and pick a starter, main and a dessert to cook for yourselves on Valentine’s Day. Put some candles on the table, get dressed up, add some background music and bring the restaurant experience to your home.

Cinema night
It’s been a really long time since we had a date to the cinema, but this is another date you can bring to the home to make it different from the usual Netflix binge session. You can buy some cinema style popcorn cases online and fill them with popcorn, get some drinks and pic’n’mix and either watch some old classics or pick a film neither of you have seen.
Walks
We may be going on walks everyday but you can try to make it a bit more special, pick a place you don’t usually go or a route where you can see some of your fav sights on the way. Or you can also walk a route that means something to your relationship, for example, by the restaurant you enjoyed your first date and do some reminiscing!

Plan a future date
We won’t be in lockdown forever so you can plan what you could do one day when we are free and you can celebrate Valentine’s Day a few months later. Pick what restaurant you will go to, an activity you always wanted to try but put off, or a show/gig you would like to see. You can plan out your perfect day to enjoy in the future and give yourselves something to look forward to.
IOU
Following on from above you can even buy vouchers or get tickets for what you want to do on a postponed Valentine’s Day.
Virtual activities
As we can’t go out and do any cool things or 'physical' activities right now, there are still many things you can do online. There are a wide range of options, including live cocktail making classes, online escape rooms, gin tasting, cake making, online murder mysteries, virtual tours, online classes and loads of other things that you may not have thought of!
